JACKSON: The death of Joyce Jackson, aged 78 years, of Brandon, occurred at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Thursday, October 29, 2009. Joyce was born March 15, 1931 at Montemartre, Saskatchewan to Harold and Helen Harlton. She spent her early years growing up on the farm at Montemartre moving with her parents to Underhill, Manitoba and then to Brandon in 1952. She attended school in the Underhill Hartney District. After moving to Brandon, Joyce was employed as a waitress for a number of years. She married Clarence and together they raised their family; three sons and one daughter. Joyce worked at K-Mart, leaving after 20 years due to back problems. Joyce enjoyed curling, crafts, scrapbooking, spending time at the cabin at Clear Lake, bird watching and classifying various types and of course, Bingo. Joyce loved spending time with her grandchildren especially family events such as Christmas and birthdays. Joyce is survived by her husband Clarence; sons Brian (Charlene), Terry (Teresa), Kevin (Cathy), and daughter Sharon Fayant (Leon); eight grandchildren: Robin, Tara (Nathan) Holton, Kyle, Kristi, Curtis, Christopher, Nicole and Adam. She was predeceased by her parents. The Ceremony to celebrate Joyce's life was held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North on Wednesday, November 4, 2009. Mona Franklin officiated. Urn Bearer was son Terry Jackson. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Joyce can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 3-824 - 18th St. Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 5B7.
